March 2016
Scott launches an energy bar company with a financial literacy foundation. The name was inspired by his Financial Management class and mangoes. FinMan + Mango! The business fails, but the foundation lives on.

April 2016
Scott jumps on a flight to San Francisco to visit Oscar, an old college friend and Noogler (new Google employee at the time). They talk about the idea and come to an agreement, the world NEEDS FinMango.
November 2016
The first FinMango program launches at the JRC Center in Canton, Ohio with Jon Li and Scott Glasgow.

December 2016
A Togolese NGO searches financial management on Google. Instead of finding financial management in Mango, Togo (a city), they find FinMango in Ohio. FinMango partners and launches the first global program. The program later expands to 13 different countries.
May 2017
Scott speaks to 500 students at the University of Akron Finance Day and meets Bob Gillingham. The passion was mutually infectious and Bob (aka mango Bob) joins FinMango to launch an investing program. The program laters expands to 50+ schools in Ohio, Oregon, and Colorado. 30,000+ students reached so far.
July 2017
The FinMango culture is born! If you know us, you know we don't just work side-by-side, we have meetings on kayaks, host late night talks, eat pizza, gather when possible, share hobbies, and hang out outside of work. Turns out, when you work for a cause you care about, it doesn’t take long to make friends.
November 2018
FinMango India is formed with Harish Sharma and Gautham Kannan. Harish and Gautham later join FinMango leadership to assist the organization with operations.
January 2019
FinMango launches the Fincubator with Stephen Nzishura in Uganda. A youth accelerator program focused on financial literacy and entrepreneurship. The program creates 12 businesses and 211 bank accounts through 2020.
May 2019 & February 2020
Scott delivers his first TEDx talk (about human potential) in Anápolis, Brazil and his second TEDx talk (about education) in Lomé, Togo.
May 2020
EXTRAVAGANZA launches as the world’s most unique financial inclusion conference in history. It consisted of 24 hours (a WORLD RECORD on ZOOM) of LIVE keynotes, workshops, and panels from speakers across the world. Over 1600 people attended and over 300,000 people were reached on social media.

July 2020
The FinMango Advocacy Alliance launches as a passionate community of financial literacy advocates. 60+ countries represented!

August 2020
FinMango launches a collaboration with Google on the COVID Open Data Project. Gains global media coverage from CNN, The New York Times and so on.

February 2021
Mango X is born! The semi-secret moonshot factory of FinMango with a mission to create radical new technologies to solve some of the world’s hardest financial problems. Goal: 10x impact on the financial exclusion problem, not just 10% improvement.
